Job Description
Summary of position:
To provide support to a novel minimal invasive surgery platform project. Candidate will be working in the R&D department and will have exposure and build experience in the verification process of medical devices.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Establishes and optimizes test methods and protocols for studies during methods development, pre-verification and verification phases of product development.
• Executes studies: bench top, simulated tissue and wet lab studies.
• Designs or coordinates the design of fixtures for studies.
• Utilizes knowledge of statistical processes to plan for pertinent studies (DOE)
• Utilizes statistical software and principles to analyze data as applicable.
• Compiles results from studies in form of a comprehensive report.
o Customer Focus:
• Observes procedural cases in hospitals.
• Works closely with other medical professionals, such as doctors, PAs and nurses to understand customer needs.
• Conducts literal research to stay abreast in field.
o Works Well with Others:
• Works cooperatively with others as part of a team.
• Collaborates with peers to manage the development of appropriate testing to verify product meets internal and external customer requirements.
• Values and respects team ideas and opinions.
o Communication Skills (written and oral):
• Prepares full documentation in accordance with relevant internal SOPs and development process controls.
• Prepares posters and technical papers to be presented at technical and/or clinical conferences.
• Presents findings to peers, leadership team, surgeons, customers, and at society meetings.
• Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 1 year of experience in an industry.
• Education in Biomedical Engineering or related field (Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, etc).
• Previous experience in a medical device industry (product development) is highly recommended.
• Must be available to work at least 40 hours a week Monday-Friday. Candidate will be expected to work during weekends and overtime as needed.
• Strong analytical, communications [both oral and written forms] and organizational skills required.
• Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and to the workplace with the ability to efficiently multitask.
• Experience using a variety of office and engineering software, including MS Office, Pro-E, Solidworks, or AutoCAD, Minitab, etc.
• Must be willing and able to travel ~15% (up to 40%) of the time primarily between New England facilities via car or train. Domestic travel will be needed periodically
