Job Description
 
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Perform Verification Test activities for Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Software Products. Develop automated and manual tests for web based, mobile, and custom medical device applications by creating test plans, implementing and executing test scenarios, and delivering associated documentation for the verification of software requirements.

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with object oriented programming experience capable of analyzing software requirements and developing automated tests to verify web-based software in the medical device industry. Automated tests are developed in SpecFlow and Coded UI with C# code behind.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of tests for custom medical device applications, including Windows, Android and iOS platforms
- Independently provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organizational objectives.
- Estimate effort and duration of tasks and develop and execute plans and strategies to complete the work on time.
- Read, analyze, understand, and review product requirements.
- Design and execute tests using Automated test tools, as well as Manual test development process, for the verification of software requirements.
- Generate test data using real and simulated devices.
- Perform system testing of software releases using real devices.
- Establish and maintain traceability from software requirements to verification test design and implementation.
- Analyze and solve technical problems.
- Participate in the technical reviews of software requirements.
- Participate in the technical review of verification tests and results.
- Interface with software development engineers on software implementation.
- Assist scrum team with debugging and solving issues discovered during test.
- Operate electronics testing equipment.
- Prepare, review, submit, and maintain project/product documentation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience.
- M.S. in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages: C#, .NET, HTML, Java, JavaScript, C++, Python.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Understanding of both Agile and Waterfall software development methods.
• Understanding of one or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Android and iOS.
• Understanding of MS Server technologies (MS SQL, XML/XSLT).
• Quality focus, willingness to learn, versatility and adaptability.
• Good organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work on cross-functional project teams comprised of software verification and development engineers, system engineers, human factor engineers and quality engineers.
• Understanding of one or more of the following tools: Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, MS Test Manager.
• Experience developing automated tests.
• Experience using SpecFlow, Cucumber, Coded UI.
• Design/test experience working with regulated medical devices.
• Experience working within a regulated environment.
• Experience with software version control tools.
