Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer II
Location: Miami Lakes FL 33014
Duration: 6 months (Full time Contract position)

Position Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates quality in all actions; Provides support to production operations including material disposition, process updates and daily manufacturing activities. Design, develop, implement and improve manufacturing processes to produce cost effective quality medical device products and systems. Provide manufacturing engineering to create, document and implement required procedures and documents while ensuring full compliance with GMP’s. Conduct product testing, prototype development, tooling review and recommendations, product and tooling quotes, development of manufacturing processes and testing standards. Complete internal qualification process on all tools for manufacturing. Applies Company policies and procedures to resolve routing issues. Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures budgets, schedules and performance requirements are met.

Establishes operational objectives and assignments and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing Company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effect.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods and employees. In some instances this is a functional manager and may not have subordinate managers.

Essential duties and responsibilities
• Support assembly activities with fixture design, repair, verification, and implementation
• Create and maintain production documentation
• Performs equipment qualifications and maintenance
• Develops, characterizes and optimizes processes using statistical techniques, engineering knowledge and experience
• Revising existing methods and machines to continually improve productivity of manufacturing
• Monitors prices and equipment performance
• Identifies and implements process improvement activities to increase yield, efficiency or throughput
• Trains assemblers, quality control, and technicians on processes, equipment, and documentation
• Develops new and innovative ways to manufacture the existing product
• Must be willing to work shifts, over time and weekend/ holidays as required by business needs or project deadlines

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Must have extensive mechanical design knowledge
• Must be fully capable of using parametric modeling software (Pro-E or SolidWorks) to generate solid models, assemblies, and machine drawings for fabrication of components and assemblies.
• Must be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while providing short-term assistance on projects currently underway.
• Experience in designing, ordering, and fabricating mechanical or electromechanical equipment
• Hands-on and highly service-oriented
• Capable of learning complex electromechanical assemblies
• Must be familiar with machining processes
• Must be able to interact with suppliers regarding component fabrication and/or quality issues
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• PC application skills: MS Project, Excel, Word

Required Education/ Experience
• B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or related field)

Preferred Skills
• Experience in test protocol development and execution is beneficial
• Experience in process validation is beneficial
• Basic instrumentation and electrical knowledge would be very helpful.
