Job Description
 
Responsibilities:
• The PC Build Technician within the Business Partner Services team is a role dedicated to activities with the setup of new PCs. With a regular and consistent asset refresh schedule for a variety of internal customers, it is the PC Build Technician's role to align with Refresh Coordinators to schedule the receipt, build / configuration, and imaging of new PCs.
• Further, it is expected that this role will conduct and/or validate needs assessments (consisting of both hardware and software) in order to successfully meet internal customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Perform needs assessments (of both hardware and software) for internal customers' PCs
• Configure and image new and used Dell desktop, laptop, and tablet computing devices
• Partner with members of the BPS team to ensure hardware is prepared correctly
• Align with Refresh Coordinators to ensure PC refresh schedules are followed
• Work with IT Asset Management to ensure assets are correctly accounted for and all issues PCs are accurately and timely updated and tracked
• Prepare business and technical documentation
• Partner with internal customers in order to learn about business processes in an effort to gain further efficiencies in PC needs. Position requires work hours flexibility and mobility, as travel to other locations is required

Skills:
• Workstations and mixed printer types, basic LAN network, Windows 7 and Windows 10, and Active Directory
• Ability to think analytically and problem solve; further, make effective decisions based upon troubleshooting techniques
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to translate technical terms into easily understood concepts for business users
• Operate in a results-oriented manner: provide reliable and dependable customer service at all times
• Be aware of the business and its customers and work in a way that supports their needs; practice patience and empathy
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized manner
• Must be self-motivated but able to work effectively in a team environment by using and supporting the BPS team to meet their objectives

Education:
• Experience using business applications including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint), Lotus Notes, Adobe, etc.
