Job Description
 
Summary:
• Design, develop, and test of vehicle electrical architecture, subsystems, and components.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering required, MS preferred.
• 8 to 10 years minimum experience required

Skills and Competencies:
• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented. Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
• Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
• Previous experience with vehicle control and/or engine control within the automotive industry preferred computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
• Electrical Design Engineer is responsible the development of electrical system designs for Club Car vehicles.
• Specifically, we are seeking a high-energy senior level Electrical Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for success, a demonstrated passion to coach and mentor junior engineers, and assist in technical problem solving on difficult issues.
• The ideal candidate will have a hunger for researching new technologies and a desire to be the industry leader in the electrification of vehicles.
• This individual will be a key contributor in growing our business by balancing risk and reward using advanced engineering and project management tools.
• This position offers the opportunity to follow your work from concept to production and will require you to apply both analytical and hands-on skills.

Job Requirements
 
 
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
• Provide technical expertise to develop and lead product design projects
• Drive root cause analysis for quality and reliability issues
• Interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices
• Conduct DFMEA and create test and analysis plans for Product Validation
• Perform Tolerance Studies on Components and Assemblies
• Supervise product validation testing
• Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians and other team members
• Lead cross functional design reviews and Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Assessments on Components & Assemblies
• Administer appropriate agency and regulatory approval processes
• Develop and/or update electrical purchased part engineering drawings and standards
• Define, identify and complete appropriate qualification testing activities
• Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects
• Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects
• Coordinate the activities of other engineers or technicians assigned to the project
• Provide engineering support to product planning and/or technical support teams
• Identify electrical quality and productivity improvement opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 10 years’ experience in electrical design and/or systems engineering (preferably automotive) is required.
• Master’s in Electrical Engineering a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to cross functional technical teams.

Essential Skills or Knowledge:
• Experience with power system modules, engine control, electrical vehicle controls and safety features
• Strong interest in power system modules and electrical equipment
• Competency in products including, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint required
