Job Description
 
•The candidate Lab Technician will be able to perform test execution for a wide variety of Wireless Devices that conform to any number and combination of technology families; GSM, W-CDMA (UMTS), CDMA 1X, CDMA EVDO, and LTE.
•Performance of tests will take place on commercial test equipment, and will require the following:
•Work with Test Engineers to understand test plans, and report test results
•Determination of the suitability of the device for test
•Determination of the suitability of the Test Equipment for test Set up test scripts, and Test Equipment attributes for testing Use SW tools to download device software and feature sets
•Programming of calibration parameters for the device Execution of Tests, interpretation and reporting of test results
•Capturing device log files and actions during test runs
•Other duties may include: Finding / arranging / setting power supplies, power connections, signal cables, RF cables and adapters.
•Supporting customers in the lab by assisting customer engineers in the performance of test
•Consulting with Staff to help support
•Customer Engineers generally
•Negotiating test equipment availability schedules with other
•Engineers Working with management to ensure maximum availability of test equipment
•This role MAY involve travel outside of San Diego, and potentially outside of the USA for up to 20% of the time, on the average.
•The candidate will be required to perform tests singularly or in groups.
•The candidate will be required to operate and run tests on more that one device, and on multiple platforms simultaneously.
•Responsibility for efficiency of the test cycle will be that of the technician.
•Technician will be required to take direction from Engineers.
•Hours may be irregular, and can frequently involve overtime and / or schedule shifting.

Minimum Qualification:
•1 year competency loading computer SW, making connections, and setting up serial port communications.
•Candidate should have experience in at least 1 software programming language (C/C++, PERL).
•3 years minimum prior experience testing wireless devices in some of the above mentioned Wireless Technologies.

Preferred Qualification:
Candidate will demonstrate skills with PCs and PC concepts, including Applications, EXCEL and WORD.

Education:
•Required: Associate's, Computer Science and/or Information Technology or equivalent experience
•Preferred: Bachelor's or equivalent experience
