Job Description
 
Senior Consultant - Functional

1.1. Overview
As a part of the Consulting Team, this position will primarily be responsible for providing functional consulting services and support to clients on their system implementation, development and/or maintenance related projects.
This position reports to the Director, Solutions Delivery and does not have any direct reports.
Consultants may be required to work at client sites.
1.2. Responsibilities:
• Lead and/or participate in all phases of the consulting project life cycle including project planning, fit/gap analysis, configuration/design, development, system and user testing, end user training, go-live preparation, deployment and post-live support.
• Lead/facilitate client business process, fit/gap analysis sessions and requirements gathering sessions.
• Provide expert input and advice regarding PeopleSoft, Kronos and other ERP capabilities and provide best practices and business process reengineering recommendations.
• Lead and/or develop detailed functional specifications for system configuration, system design, development, reports and customizations to meet client requirements.
• Lead and/or execute system configuration.
• Lead and/or execute functional and integration testing, providing recommendations on how to resolve issues as required.
• Coordinate tasks and support client during UAT phase.
• Develop training materials and deliver training to client project team and end users as required.
• Lead and/or participate in data conversion and go-live tasks.
• Participate in and/or lead client status meetings.
• Works independently on consulting projects and at client sites, serving as primary day-to-day project contact for client.
• Manages own project tasks timelines/schedules, priorities and budget. Highlights project risks, budget and timeline concerns to project manager. Provides status updates directly to client as required.
• Act as project manager on small and medium-sized projects, preparing status reports, conducting team status meetings and managing project schedules, resources and deliverables as required.
• Manage client expectations, resolve project scope and functionality issues and escalate issues to project manager as appropriate.
• Supervise junior consulting staff and QA project deliverables.
• Work with developers/technical consultants to ensure technical deliverables meet client requirements and coordinate on-time completion of dependent tasks.
• Document client sessions, meeting, requirements, fit/gaps or other project deliverables as per documentation standards.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of methods, techniques, and processes.
• Participate in business development initiatives as required.
• Participate in training, mentoring and coaching team members if/as required.
• Provide third-level support for the application outsourcing team as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
1.3. Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Computer Science, or other related discipline is required.
• Work Experience: 8+ years of experience in an equivalent business function is preferred. 5+ years of consulting experience is required.
• Specific Knowledge: Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Kronos systems is required.
