Job Description
 
Network Security Engineer
Assignment duration is 12-18 months (potential for perm depending on budgets)
San Jose, CA
Security experience with other vendors equipment is acceptable
Minimum Qualifications :
Successful candidates should possess a fundamental working knowledge of the networking industry, products and protocols. Some level of experience is preferred in at least four of the following security firewall products, protocols, and solutions:

Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Firewalls
Next Gen Firepower IPS (NGIPS)
Next Gen Firepower Firewall (NGFW)
Firepower Thread Defense (FTD)
FireAmp (Advanced Malware protection)
Sourcefire FW/IPS products
Firepower Management Center (FMC)
Security Manager (CSM)
Secure Integrated Software (IOS Firewalls), CBAC IOS Firewall,
• SSL (Security Sockets Layer) and SSH (Secure Shell)


Additional Skills:

Successful candidates should have strong written, verbal, and listening skills. Customer support engineers must be able to calmly work with customers while handling critical network problems. Engineers must also be able to describe complex topics in a way that is appropriate to the expertise of the customer.

Successful candidates should have strong technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills and be able to determine the root cause of network problems. They must be able to review customer data in the form of network topologies, and crash, log, or other device files for anomalies. With the root cause identified, successful candidates must be able to deliver solutions that lead to problem resolution or mitigation with a high level of customer satisfaction

Successful candidates must have excellent teamwork skills and be able to listen to, accept, and follow direction from more senior engineers. Customer support engineers must also be able to effectively engaged resources outside their team to further the troubleshooting and resolution of issues which may include other technical support engineers, account teams, partners, and development engineers. Once a customer support engineer is fully trained, he/she may be requested to provide guidance and training to other members of the work group.
