Job Description
 
1. Production, Project Management and Administration
• Publishing: Performs duties such as typesetting, lay-out, analyzing, keying, converting, coding, copy reading, editing, merging, rendering, loading, or validation of data. Supports team publishing goals by meeting deadlines.
• Quality Control: Responsible for accuracy and completeness of work product. All work will be checked until competent process knowledge is developed.
• Content acquisition: Duties may include acquisition of manuscripts or core content, analysis of manuscripts and electronic files, coding (mark-up of data) and resolving coding errors, manuscript editing, compiling and editing of content, proofreading and copy reading, quality control and verification.
• Manages and prioritizes multiple and sometimes competing tasks, and manages project responsibilities. Consistently meets deadlines and shows autonomy in completing tasks with some technical and management guidance
• Proactively seek out process improvements, automation opportunities and cost reductions.
• Supports activities associated with the integration of formal development methodologies into group efforts.

2. Technical
• Performs analytical problem-solving and works towards solving complex problems independently
• Attends on-going training for new applications and utilities as necessary to maintain proficiency in all applicable administration tools.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the major software applications, tools and technologies and the network environment used regularly for business functions at Thomson Reuters.
• Act as liaison with programming staff to test programs, JCL, macros, office automations and move applications or programs into production
• Technology expertise is geared towards the operational aspects of Content Operations.
• Develops and executes process improvements needed to enhance production workflow
• Provides input for designs, functional specifications, and project requirements
• Participates in on-going cross-training to ensure proper level of customer support

3. Leadership and Communication
• Exemplifies excellent customer service skills and exhibits professional behavior with end-users and peers.
• Interacts and collaborates with team members in a cooperative spirit.
• Contributes to activities associated with increasing customer service within the group.
• Reports and addresses problems affecting production processes or applications supported by the team.
• Develop, write, and maintain documentation for applications and procedures.
• Provides training as needed to co-workers, production staff and customers.
• Reports and addresses problems affecting production processes or applications supported by the team.
• Make recommendations and requests to obtain needed resources from other technical support areas or programming staff as required.

4. Business Acumen and Strategy
• • Maintains a general knowledge of Thomson Reuters product lines.
• Maintains an understanding of the end-user community (i.e., understands how technology impacts the end-user community)
• Maintains an understanding of how technical solutions impact strategic business goals
• Maintains general knowledge of company product lines

Job Requirements
 
 
• UNIX scripting experience
• Knowledgeable in PL/SQL
• Can act as Level 2 ongoing support – moderate to complex issues
• Working knowledge of one or more markup languages: SGML, HTML, XML.
• Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
