Job Description

Must Haves:
1) At least 1 year of LabVIEW coding experience (Senior design projects involving LabVIEW can be considered).
2) At least 1 year of experience in Electrical / Mechanical Test Fixture development.
3) Candidate has good understanding / experience of Software development and Verification activities. Any relevant experience is most welcome.

• Follow SOPs to create test design documentation including test instructions, specifications, drawings and verification/validation plans based on product test requirements.
• Work with R&D Engineers, Electronics Lab Technicians and Mechanical group to realize Electrical / Mechanical fixtures needed for ATE. Generate reports and release test documentation for ATE’s.
• Design and Spec new test equipment by understanding requirements for products in the development pipeline.
• Generate test software in LabVIEW and Test Stand. Contribute to new product introduction and process improvements
• Design, develop and maintain applications on NI LabVIEW and Test Stand.
• Develop intuitive Graphical User Interfaces
• Collaborate/coordinate with HW and SW Engineers to collect test requirements and develop test plans.
• Implement fully integrated tests for LabVIEW application
• Manage code in repository and adapt source code control techniques
• Work in a fast-paced team environment
• Follow Agile methodologies in projects and participate in Hardware/Test Sprints.
• Can represent the software group on all software related testing decisions such as acting as the team’s representative in cross-functional meetings as it applies to establishing the test plan, acceptance criteria, implementation of verification protocols including test case development and execution.
• Assists with software and hardware risk management including FMEA and software risk/hazard analysis.
• Performs LabVIEW code reviews, design reviews and code walk-through
• Prepares and coordinates verification of software during investigation and design change activities.
• Creates Intellectual Property (IP) through idea and product submissions and patent applications. Assures the protection and completion of these activities for both themselves and other members of their working group.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned. Complies with the site quality system.


Education Required
• B.S. or M.S. from an accredited school in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

Years of Experience
o 1 to 2 years of Test Fixture Development.
o 1 to 2 years of Software / Hardware verification planning and management.
o 1 to 2 years of LabVIEW test development desired.

Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required
o Ability to read and understand software and Hardware requirement specifications, detailed design documents
o Ability to write Test Fixture test plans, protocols and reports
o Ability to perform Software and Hardware risk analysis
o Skilled in the identification and debug of software and hardware defects
o Experience with programming languages including C, C++, VB.NET is beneficial but not mandatory.
o Experience with software configuration management and bug tracking utilities.
o Experience with automated testing environments; i.e. Coded UI/Visual Studio, LabVIEW etc.
o Able to work and communicate effectively with other engineers, designers, marketers and suppliers to develop products from concept through commercialization in a cross-functional team
o Skilled in the use of Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
o Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills. Exercises good judgment when communicating to all levels in the business organization.
o Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage project closure even when results depend on others.
