Job Description
Position Purpose

An individual in this role will be responsible for daily operations of Linux based high availability systems. The role holder is expected to develop and maintain standardized configurations for related technologies and to ensure that high levels of security, performance and availability are delivered for in scope applications.

He/she will manage workload and coordinate daily tasks of a small team of system engineers ensuring optimal operations of all service components according to service SLA. The Person will proactively identify and promote improvements and optimizations to achieve high efficiency.

Main Responsibilities
? Work with the Service Delivery Manager to identify and progress company and team objectives
? Provide line management, support and guidance to direct reports, ensuring that performance expectations and development needs are met
? Establish and maintain standard practices on specification, configuration and management of Linux based systems and solutions to support operation and growth within Lumesse private and AWS data centres
? Provide outstanding support to key stakeholders within Engineering and Customer Support
? Troubleshoot performance, quality and availability issues
? Work with the Cloud Solution Architect to ensure high quality and consistent architecture documentation exists for all existing and new solutions
? Create and maintain service documentation to ensure that all computer operations procedures are up to date and reflect the current processing requirements
? Ensure incidents are resolved within given SLA
? Support project initiatives. Assure appropriate projects resources.
? Operate and maintain AWS and data centre infrastructure used for hosting of Lumesse systems and application modules
? Manage and maintain operations of VMware and storage services in Lumesse data centre
? Ensure correct configuration and operation of backup and disaster recovery procedures including data restore and actual recovery
? Troubleshoot performance, quality and availability issues
? Drive and maintain automation and orchestration within existing processes and frameworks
? Ensure that all systems and solutions are properly documented
? Ensure development of subordinate individuals
? Understand and comply with key policies and processes, including Change Management, Problem Management, Major Incident Management and Information Security Management

Desired Skills and Experience
? At least 5 years of experience in the following areas: public cloud preferably AWS, private cloud and co-location, VMware, storage solutions
? At least 2 years in people management role
? AWS certification to the professional level
? Mastery of Linux (Debian, RedHat/CentOS).
? Solid understanding of how to configure, deploy, manage and maintain large systems; including auto-scaling, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting and disaster recovery
? Hands on experience with Terraform, Ansible or other configuration management systems.
? Deep understanding of fundamental technologies, such as: DNS, DHCP, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP
? Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash)
? Hands on experience with enterprise monitoring solutions such as Nimsoft, Nagios and suchlike
