Job Description
 
• Serve as Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designer and technical team member for the development and support of cable telephony products.
• Focus on derivative designs and introducing new component technology into existing products, improving quality and reducing cost. Additional focus would be on new, analog and digital, wireless and Radio Frequency (RF) products.
• Generate required PCB product development documentation including, but not limited to, technical printed circuit board specifications, detailed design documents, and bills of materials.
Participate in the Engineering Change Order Process. Work closely with internal customers and company manufacturing personnel to maintain specified product performance and quality and making appropriate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) changes.
• Assist in resolving technical printed circuit board problems, implement design changes and provide engineering support to resolve manufacturing and field issues.
• Interface with other departments to enable accomplishment of new product development objectives.
• Generate schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and test documentation, under supervision of the Technical Lead or Senior Engineer. Communicate project status, issues, and requirements both verbally and in writing.

Job Requirements
 
 
Top 3 skill sets:
• 3 to 5 years minimum Mentor Expedition and DX Designer printed circuit board toolsets and Mentor library.
• Extensive experience in the layout of PCBs with small pitch, high density BGA devices.
• Extensive experience with mixed signal PCB design involving high speed digital, low frequency analog and high frequency RF circuits.

Required Skills (degrees, certifications, licenses etc.):
• Extensive experience with mixed signal PCB design involving high speed digital, low frequency analog and high frequency RF circuits.
• Extensive experience with the layout of PCBs for DOCSIS based products for the cable industry.
• Extensive experience with the layout of PCBs for WiFi based products.
• Component level understanding of digital components for telecommunication products (0201 size surface mount components, ball grid array parts, flatpacks, QFN packages).
