Description
Job Purpose
This contractor position will be responsible for messaging, value proposition and commercial validation of Elsevier’s new analytics platform for life sciences. He/She will deal with key stakeholders across the business in addition to our customers and industry. He /She will create a value proposition, itemize competitive differentiators, and create & execute a plan to determine the commercial viability of the platform.

The individual will perform against four result areas:
•Development of Value Proposition
o Define customer-centric value propositions based on market, competitor and customer insight.
o Build messaging to address specific customer issues, ensuring it is differentiated and compelling to customer groups, users and organizations within Life Sciences

•Competitive positioning
o Work with product team to create positioning statements that explain why Elsevier is the ideal partner in an increasingly crowded space of Life Science platforms

•Commercial Validation
o Work with product and sales teams to champion a program in which customers validate the value proposition and the commercial viability of the platform
o Gather intelligence from customer interviews about price points

•Go-to-Market planning
o Prioritize customer segments and needs to target
o Develop/suggest sales channel strategy, working closely with the Sales and Marketing leadership
o Develop GTM plan that encompasses awareness, demand generation, and sales enablement

Education, Knowledge, and Experiences
• 6+ years in solutions or product marketing or similar commercial role, preferably in the life science or information/informatics space
• Strong background in creating and executing customer-centric GTM strategies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Project management expertise
• Experience with SAAS and Big data
• Experience with B2B
• Proven ability to work independently and in teams to implement and deliver on projects and programs
• B.A. or B.S. in a life science/technical field
