Candidate Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE: The Restructuring Project Leader is responsible for planning, coordinating, governing and reporting on a list of gear and or shafts they are representing.
They will be following the NSI (New Source Introduction) process and present at GW3 (Sourcing Selection) and GW5.5 (Production Commitment Readiness).
They will be working closely with a Gear and or Shaft Manufacturing Support person.

Typical Day
Major Role - To represent component restructuring team for a particular number of parts ensuring NSI conformance (based on APQP) on the following
• Procurement and development issues
• Monitor and report NSI progress by utilizing project management software • Hold suppliers accountable for meeting quality and timeliness of requirements
• Assist the restructuring group in managing procurement related capital and expense.
• Work with Design Control and manufacturing support to document drawing changes through ECN process They will be accountable for understanding component strategies, GSND strategies, corporate NSI process, and the business processes necessary to deliver GW3 and GW5.5 commitments.
Responsible for working with GSND on management of procurement related capital and expense items (supplier tooling and packaging), NSI target setting and conformance, GSND’s participation and updating Project Management Timelines.

Leadership- Provide leadership for the NSI activities within restructuring including select sources taken from the category strategies & matrices and resource management decisions. Demonstrate leadership in recognizing the potential for cost and inventory reductions, and quality improvement; as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment. Promote the highest level of professionalism and business ethics.

Strategy- The incumbent must also have strong knowledge of the Gears and Shafts manufacturing process, NPI or NSI, Manufacturing, Supply Network and Category & Facilities Strategies.

Customers - Typical internal customers include contacts at all organization levels, worldwide.
The incumbent solves NSI problems by determining the best course of action, within departmental guidelines, from many existing solutions.

The role will identify and satisfy Critical Customer Requirements (CCR), managing Product expectations for Global Supply Network to deliver benefits required to sustain a competitive advantage.
Technical Skills

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: Experience is preferred in procurement, logistics, manufacturing, project management and/or engineering.

• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible job-related experience.
• Candidate must have either a manufacturing or engineering design background in steel components.
• Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill.
• Solid understanding of the APQP process.
• Effective communicator, in written and oral form. Fluent in the English language and preferred other languages.
