HR Specialist role : Located between Harrisonburg and Charlottesville, Virginia, the Client facility in Elkton employs about 700 employees. The facility is a key contributor to Client's world-wide network of manufacturing, producing vaccines, antibiotics and other important pharmaceutical products. The HR Specialist role will be responsible to perform a wide range of HR generalist duties including job postings, labor/employee relations, employee development, talent and performance management, coaching, and change management. Specific duties include: • Manage hourly employee job posting process • Interact with union members to help resolve HR issues • Assist in resolving grievances • Assist in labor negotiations, arbitrations, investigations and other union–related matters • Assist salaried employees with HR concerns and collaborate with centers of excellence as necessary • Assist in annual and ongoing employee assessment processes • Coach leaders regarding HR matters including investigations, performance management, employee relations • Provide training on HR themes to site personnel • Assist in driving HR initiatives and activities such as compensation, benefits, accommodations, timekeeping, development, continuous improvement, organizational design etc. • Help broker the use of shared services to complete transactional activity • Track HR metrics/Run reports NOTE: Occasional travel may be necessary Education: • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required Required Experience and Skills: • Minimum (3- 5 years of HR generalist experience in a union manufacturing environment that includes employee relations, change management, talent management, coaching and development. • Ability to maintain confidences, provide candid and objective observation and advice. • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite. • Ability to handle difficult conversations, provide advice to leaders on a variety of HR subjects, handle investigations, • Ability to influence others and drive change. Preferred Experience and Skills: • Experience handling arbitration, negotiations. • Experience using SAP, Preferred, not required.

Job Requirements
 
 
• Minimum of 3- 5 years of recruiting/staffing experience required, preferably in a large, matrixed organization • Experience recruiting all levels of professionals is strongly preferred for this opportunity. • Experience with direct sourcing and qualification of candidates, including use of the Internet, conducting telephone and on-site interviews utilizing behavioral- based interviewing techniques required. • Requires thorough knowledge of recruiting/staffing database systems (experience using Taleo a plus). • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication as well as strong relationship building / maintenance, facilitation and influencing skills required.
